IEEE Day is a yearly occasion established by IEEE for celebrating the first time in history when engineers worldwide and IEEE members gathered to share their technical ideas in 1884.

IEEE Day’s 2018 theme is: “Leveraging Technology for a Better Tomorrow”. While the world benefits from what’s new, IEEE focuses on what’s next. IEEE Day 2018 is the 9th edition of the same and will be celebrated on 2nd October 2018.

Worldwide celebrations demonstrate the ways thousands of IEEE members in local communities join together to collaborate on ideas that leverage technology for a better tomorrow. We celebrate IEEE members!

The IEEE Day team is made up of student volunteers, young professionals, and staff. Together, they work to ensure that this year’s celebration will be even bigger and more impressive than the last editions. The principle task of the IEEE Day team is to initiate, motivate, and coordinate events and efforts to celebrate this day worldwide.

IEEE INPT student branch celebrated this day by organizing a nice entire journey full of activities and presentations. They included some scientific presentations led by some laureates of INPT and also some IEEE INPT student branch members followed by some workshops related to the IEEE Day theme : “Leveraging Machine Learning for a better tomorrow”. Some specific technologies were discussed :  “Cloud computing”, “Smart grid “. This was all combined with fun and enhancing the knowledge of all the public present during the event.
