Organizations digital transformation day – From ERP to BI and Data Analytics

The IEEE Morocco Section held an event about the digital transformation in organisations on the 7th of July 2018.
The goal was to present an approach to go from the traditional Entreprise Resource Planner Organization Model, to a Business Intelligence approach where an organization gets actionable information from the amounts of data it has.
An Entreprise Resource Planner is a piece of software that supports and integrates the processes in the organization such as Customer Relationship Management, order management, accounting, inventory, human resources. An ERP manages a database to provide consistent information to the different processes.
After the opening word of the IEEE Morocco Section chair, 4 keynote talks from the business intelligence industry members were given. The day was closed by a debate between the speakers to confront ideas about the matter.
Abreghech TAWFIK, IT Director at iPaper, Casablanca, was the first keynote speaker.
He was followed by Stephane DAGUET, Darbtech CTO & Founder. The Darbtech company is implanted at Chamonix where it intervenes with small businesses in Pays de Savoir – France. It provides services in different subjects such as productivity improvement through CRM and ERP, system and network security, and voice over IP.
Karim BOUKABBOUZ, CTO & Co-Founder of IBS Group Tetuan, was the 3rd keynote speaker. Before joining IBS Group he was a freelance web developer, then an IEEE Industry ambassador. IBS Group is an IT Services company, with a presence in Belgium and Morocco, mainly working in Odoo ERP development.
Chahhou Mohamed was the last speaker, talking about Kaggle Analytics. He is currently professor at the Faculty of science at Dhar al Mahraz (Fes).
Kaggle is an online community of data scientists and machine learners, owned by Google LLC. Kaggle allows users to find and publish data sets, explore and build models in a web-based data-science.
Chahhou Mohamed is a competitions grand master at Kaggle.
